Hurricanes are a Growing Threat You Cannot Afford to Ignore
Brosnan’s® scalable protection services help business leaders
mitigate risk for employees and assets during hurricane season.
Official hurricane season kicks off each year on June 1st and goes through the end of November. While the typical peak season is mid-August to late October, a disastrous storm can occur any time during the season.
Since the 1980s, both the frequency and intensity of hurricanes in the Atlantic and Gulf of Mexico have increased. So has the damage. Tropical Hurricanes cost an average of $22 billion per storm.
With over 60 million people or 30% of the U.S. population in the path of these storms, businesses need to plan for potential impacts to physical property, employees, supply chains and customers.
No matter how active or quiet the hurricane season, it only takes one to cause catastrophic damage to your business.
Brosnan's Emergency Response Team can work with you to prepare for and respond to any hurricane-related emergency.
Preparing Your Organization for an Active Shooter
Brosnan's® scalable protection services help organizations
mitigate the risk of active shooter events.
According to the FBI, there have been 20 or more active shooter events each year since 2014. In 2018 alone, there were 27 events across 16 states that killed 85 innocent people. While active shooter events occur at educational institutions, healthcare providers, and businesses, roughly half of all incidents happen at a place of business. Organizations cannot ignore this growing threat to the workplace.
An active shooter event not only endangers employees and customers, but it can also permanently damage your brand. Company leaders should proactively create a plan for prevention and employee training. This plan should include a threat analysis, security technology and personnel deployments, employee background checks, security measures for terminations and layoffs and regular training for employees.
Active shooter events can be mitigated with proactive intelligence, security measures, employee training and actionable intelligence.

Employee of the Month: Mike Kilkenny
On Aug. 3, 2019, Brosnan Risk Consultants (BRC) activated its Emergency Operations Center (EOC) and initiated the rapid response plan in support of a mass-casualty event in El Paso, Texas. An Emergency Security Services Deployment was activated to secure approximately 26 commercial properties in the El Paso area of operations, and additional sites in New Mexico and Arizona.
By 5 p.m. on that same day, Mike Kilkenny, Senior Field Supervisor in NYC, was selected to assume command and control of incoming personnel and commence emergency coordination in El Paso. He left BRC headquarters in Pearl River, NY at 4 a.m. on August 4th, and arrived in Texas before noon.
For eight weeks, Mike has worked tirelessly to support our Customer on-site, and the Brosnan Teammates assigned to this detail with administrative, logistical, personnel, local Intelligence, and Command and Control coordination.
Mike's presence in El Paso resulted in the seamless transition of the crime scene properties from the overview by federal, state and local authorities to Brosnan personnel, while maintaining access, traffic control, security and patrol functions at adjacent properties.
Mike's actions to date have been exemplary and his wisdom, guidance and expertise have been sought by subordinates and superiors alike. He has made a difference to a community that continues to suffer from an unimaginable, tragic event and through his actions, he has exemplified the highest level of professionalism and deftly balanced the response from a security and a humanitarian perspective.
