Q: When did you serve?
A: I started as an enlisted Marine in May 1988 and finished in 2015 as a Major.
Q: In what capacity did you serve?
A: I served in the Active and Reserve components. I was a Corporal when I was enlisted and a Major as an officer. I served in the 1st Marine Division, 2nd Marine Division and 4th Marine Division. I also served at NSA (National Security Agency) and DIA (Defense Intelligence Agency). My military specialty was infantry from 1988-1992 and I was a Human Intelligence Officer (Interrogator and Case Officer) from 1992-2015.
Q: Why did you join?
A: I was too small to play pro hockey and college was not really working out – my family had a long tradition of military service so it was an easy decision.
Q: What made you want to come to Brosnan?
A: I have known about Brosnan since 9/11 responding to the military response in NYC and Bill Varian (Senior Vice President, Emergency Response Services) was instrumental in bringing me up from Washington DC since we have known each other for a long time in various parts of the world.
Q: Why do you think Veterans are a good fit in the security sector?
A: The security vertical is a natural segway for most veterans since it aligns with service, being part of a team, and provides opportunities that are more actionable than your typical job. There are also many different levels of security such as high threat overseas positions, to events for professional sports, Emergency Response or traditional security with Fortune 500 clients. There are so many opportunities to grow and develop, most veterans are attracted to this profession.
Q: What do you like to do in your free time?
A: I attend a lot of professional hockey games and tournaments for the Caps and Bruins – but now will become a Rangers fan since MSG is one of the best venues to watch hockey.
