Patrick J. Brosnan
Founder & CEO
Patrick J. Brosnan is the founder and CEO of Brosnan. Mr. Brosnan is a former NYPD detective with extensive field experience in the Robbery/Gun Squad and the Organized Crime Control Bureau. Mr. Brosnan was selected as the New York State Police Officer of the Year for investigative skills that led to the arrests of over 900 violent criminals and the seizure of over 300 loaded handguns during his career and was heralded by the Governor as a “one-man war on crime in New York City.”
Edmund Hartnett brings thirty-two years of prior police management and supervisory experience to Brosnan, rising from NYPD police officer to the rank of Deputy Chief before retiring in 2006 to become the Police Commissioner of Yonkers NY, the fourth largest city in New York State. As a direct result of his reorganization of that department, Yonkers was ranked the second safest city in the nation out of 125 major cities in 2009.
Michael De Paolis
Senior Vice President
Michael De Paolis is the Senior Vice President for Brosnan. Mr. De Paolis was a Second Grade Homicide Detective with the NYPD for over twenty years. In that capacity, Mr. De Paolis worked on many highly sensitive assignments developing intelligence vital to the safety and security of the city of New York. Most recently, Mr. De Paolis has managed an ongoing security detail for a National Basketball Association franchise, and managed the security of more than eighty banks in the New York Metropolitan area.
Vice President of Sales
Tom Varian has joined the Brosnan Risk Consultants team as Vice President of Sales. Previously, Tom held senior leadership roles and served as the Founder/ Chief Executive Officer, Regional Vice President for Sales, Regional Operations Manager, for several public and private companies, including Riva Payment Solutions, JPMorgan Chase Bank, & Party City Holdings, Inc.
Tom is an expert on a range of topics that include, developing powerful sales strategies, the art of networking, and interpreting and utilizing financial data to drive operational efficiencies across all functional business units of an organization.
Senior Vice President, Security Services
Matthew Helenek is the Senior Vice President of Global Operations for Brosnan. Matthew is a graduate of Pace University’s Pforzheimer Honors College with a degree in Criminal Justice., specializing in Crime Prevention through Environmental Design. Since joining Brosnan, Matthew has excelled managing some of our largest security accounts in our retail and bank security sectors. His experience and knowledge in the field has given Brosnan Risk a step above the competition.
Robert Hoyt is a Vice President in BRC’s Security Division. He is a former Lieutenant Commander of the Detective Squad Organized Crime Investigation Division in the NYPD. Mr. Hoyt previously served as a Lieutenant – Commanding Officer, Lieutenant – Module Commander, Lieutenant – Special Operations and a Sergeant in the 50 Precinct in the Bronx. As a Lieutenant Commander Detetive Squad he managed all aspects of long term investigations relative to organized crime. Mr. Hoyt has more than 25 years of experience in law enforcement.
Senior Vice President
George served as a detective within the Organized Crime Control Bureau’s Narcotics Division and the Detective Bureau. As a sergeant he was assigned as an investigator within the Internal Affairs Bureau. Mr. Kline was also assigned to the FBI/NYPD’s Joint Terrorism Task Force where he was in command of four teams of investigators tasked with performing international terrorism investigations, responding to threats on the homeland and gathering intelligence on terrorists and terrorist organizations.
